SCC Believes in hands on from birth with our Corgi puppies. We are there to assist mom during labor and delivery. This helps with early neurological stimulation and imprinting on the puppies. Our puppies are born and live the first few weeks in our home and then they are transitioned to our climate controlled small kennel, steps away from my home. Puppies will begin deworming At two weeks of age and continue every two weeks until they go home.
Around the time their eyes open we start with our potty/litter box training method. Puppies know natural that they do not potty where they sleep so we give a designated sleep area and a designated potty area and as the puppy ages and progresses we expand the area. Typically by the time the puppies are weaned they are having very little accidents and are using the dog door to go potty during the day.
once the puppies near the six week mark it is time for weaning and we do that in a slow gradual stage. After puppies have been weaned we give them time to adjust as they learn to live on their own without mom. Around week 7 we start creat training at night. this will help you and pup transition once they come to your home. Also at the seven week mark puppies will have their first round of vaccinations, and that will have to be followed up every 3-4 weeks for the next two doses per your vet.
